Australian Involvement in the MWA

A one-day workshop

4 June
Level 7, Physics Building, University of Melbourne

This is to announce a 1-day workshop to discuss Australia's part in the MIRA Widefield Array (MWA). This will include discussion on the science, current status, and the future use of the MWA telescope.

The MWA, formerly also called the LFD, is a radio telescope which will observe in the 80-300 MHz band. It is the low-frequency component of the MIRA instrument being built on the superb radio quiet SKA-candidate site in Western Australia. The initial science focuses of the MWA are the epoch-of-reionisation, transients, solar/space physics and an all-sky survey.

We encourage all people interested in the MWA and its science to attend. The agenda is given below.

To help with catering, please e-mail Lisa Lansfield by 30 May to let her know that you will be attending. Also contact Lisa if you wish to park a car within the university grounds.

The University of Melbourne has general information for visitors to the university.
