Large-scale (D = 100 comoving Mpc) dark matter density map at redshift z = 6 (~ 1 billion years after the Big Bang), simulated using concordance cosmology, random initial Gaussian  density field, non-linearized using the Zel’Dovich approximation. Visualised surface has been smoothed over a 400 kpc thickness. Note the peak-patching, voids & filamentary structures.
